Met with the cabinet guys again...

...and we will have to meet again. Yep, this was a meeting to talk about another meeting.

Sort of. We did talk about the layout of the cabinets a little. We are changing the orientation of the island. And we went over the vent hood details. So all that is good, I suppose.

The other big thing is that we are no longer getting a built-in for the living room. With it being that close to the gas stove, which is catty-cornered, the built-in would just look odd. It's hard to explain without being there to look at the layout. We have a nice Pottery Barn piece of furniture that will work just fine for a tv stand.

Aside from the cabinets, there were a group of roofers out putting up the shingles. They were not able to finish, but got probably half done (if I had to estimate).

We do have some homework:

  • Get a sample of the countertop for color matching
  • Set up an appointment with the stone company's Asheboro office to go pick out the stone and the remnants
  • Get measurements for the cabinets to make sure we pick the right size pieces
  • Figure out which vent hood we are getting for the cabinet guys (they are building a cover-up)
  • Start thinking about tile; Rusty will get us dimensions for how much we need

Rusty has a "tile guy", but not a preferred store or vendor. We're free to pick from wherever we want.

Rusty also continues to be coy in regards to an estimated completion date. We got our second draw, which totals roughly a third of the loan's amount. I asked if this meant we were roughly a third finished. He said he considers dry wall about half-way. Dry wall is likely going up in a couple of weeks.

Considering we started this with the tree clearing way back in October, I realllly hope that the half-way point is for work completed, not time spent.
