A fair amount happened, but then nothing happened. Weird, I know.
We did some figuring, and we have made draws from the bank totaling around one-third of the loan amount, but we are pretty far considering dry-wall and tape/mudding is ongoing. That means 2/3s of the loan amount are for everything else, which seems substantial.
So I asked Rusty for a meeting to go over all the money spent so far. Due to my schedule this week, we are meeting next week.
I also pressed Rusty for a rough estimate of when we'd be done, and he guessed around the end of August. So we have a rough idea how much longer we have. It's a best guess at this point, but it's something.
He also mentioned that we would be far enough so that the appliance delivery could be done directly to the house, that we would have a garage door by that point. When we purchased the appliances from Lowes, the longest we could wait before delivery was July 4th. Why they are delivering on a major US holiday, I have no idea, but that was the latest we could do. Even then, we were going to have them delivered to, and held at, Dawn's grandmother's house until we could move them to the house.
To save some money, we may be painting downstairs ourselves. And there is a good chance that we may be skipping any flooring in the basement save the bathroom (which will be tiled). It depends on what the bank required for the draws and those damned percentages.
As for the upcoming schedule, this week the painter is coming out this week to prime the house, as soon as the drywall is completed. We haven't put a lot of thought into paint colors yet, but nothing crazy. We will probably go neutral and relatively safe.
Next week are two big things--hardwood flooring and cabinet installation. So things are moving forward and as soon as we get walls primed and the flooring down, we will be looking at trim work. The counter top templates will be done as soon as the cabinets install, too.
Lastly, dawn had ordered a medallion for the entrance way. Personally, I hate medallions. After some talking, Dawn gave that up so that we can make the deck a little larger.
