Adventures in storage...

So Dawn and I have had our garage about 2/3s full of boxes and furniture, ready to move it into a storage facility. We packed the garage full back in June or so.

A couple of weeks ago I took a full week off work, as did Dawn, and the task of the week was to a) find a storage unit; b) move the contents of the garage to the unit.

We ended up finding a place with two 10x15 units that were side-by-side, and we paid for a year upfront. We actually got a free 13th month because of that. We then rented a truck and over a grueling several days of back breaking work and sweat, cleaned out the garage as well at the leftover items in the attic. A few other things from the house (like a loveseat) were moved, but for some mysterious reason our house looks nearly untouched.

Needless to say, we still have a ton of stuff to move. More fun for a different week.

The totals below have been updated for the unit and truck rental. And the truck fees? Not only do you have to top off the fuel, but you also get charged $.49 per mile as well.
