Dawn had to call the bank today.
The builder told us a couple of days ago to start talking to the bank about our first draw against the construction loan. This means we will start having payments now, but it was something we knew was coming eventually.
Unfortunately the poor weather over the last month or more has put things not only behind in the timescale, but now there is another wrinkle. With a new month, the builder is getting bills now they he needs to pay from money he should have gotten from our loan.
Dawn called the bank, and they require a survey of some sort. Dawn knows, I just forgot exactly what the name of the survey type is.
The survey can't be done until the basement concrete is done, the walls buttressed, and the dirt filled around the outside of the walls.
The basement concrete can't be done until the weather clears AND is above freezing for a couple of days. As of now, the concrete might be going down Friday.
We'll see.
On a side note, the builder is almost certain now that the slide entrance (remember, the old sunroom?) will not be in the dining room. So now Dawn doesn't have to give up a second room nor shuttle the furniture to the basement.
