We had all the tile picked out for the master bath. For the tub surround and the wall behind the tub, Tile Guy #2 and I had agreed that going with a 4x4 or 6x6 tile would look much better than the 12x12.
Apparently Best Tile does not carry that color/model of tile in 4x4 or 6x6. Rusty suggested we take the 12x24 from the shower walls and stand it up for the surrounds, or use the 12x12 in a diamond pattern that will match the pattern on the floor. I don't like the idea of the 12x24, so that was off the list. I asked about using the 2x2 that we will be using on the shower floor, but Rusty suggested that it would be too busy. So... we will be going with the diamond pattern with the 12x12s.
The tile cost also seems a tad on the expensive side, but we picked out what we liked and quite frankly I'm tired of picking out stuff. So, we're going with the Best Tile solution we came up with.
Aside from the tile, we are hopefully getting in the counter tops this week. We are to the point where progress feels like it creeps along. Rusty still says he is aiming for the end of August for us t move in, which means about 5-weeks.
