So Dawn wanted to go out to the house and see what has happened. Rusty asked us earlier in the week about grout colors for everything, so we figured that would be done.
Unfortunately it did not appear a lot had been done in the last 7-8 days or so. This is VERY concerning since, as of today, we have a month until the house will be done.
We could tell a lot of the siding has been done, but it is not complete. Pretty much the whole eastern side still needs to be done along with some soffit work.
We could also tell more of the windows had trim around them now.
A surprise: Where the slide entrance will be, there was a door framed in. We had intended on just having the mouth of the slide. We're going to sleep on that and figure out if we want it or now.
Another surprise: the door leading from the living room to the deck is leaking. Yes, it has been raining a lot the last few days, and yes, there is no way for the day to stay closed. However, the water has soaked into the floor (still unfinished) and is slowly working up the drywall. Not far--maybe 4-5 inches. But it is still concerning. In fact, Dawn called Rusty when we were leaving and he is looking into it. He thinks it needs to be sealed better. I'm wondering why the handle/lock has not been installed. The workers don't have to keep it locked, but at least that could have prevented the water from coming in.
Bottom line, it was disappointing seeing what appears to be little done in the last week.
